XDS RADIO IS A DIVISION OF XDS FIRE
THE XDS RADIO TEAM OFFERS ERCES (EMERGENCY RESPONDER COMMUNICATION ENHANCEMENT SYSTEMS) / BDA (BI-DIRECTIONAL AMPLIFIERS)
ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System) refers to systems designed to improve radio communication inside buildings for first responders like firefighters, police, and paramedics. BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) are terms often used to refer to ERCES systems.
ERCES ensures reliable communication between first responders during emergencies within buildings, even in areas with weak or no radio signal coverage like stairwells, basements, and fire command centers.
ERCES systems utilize a roof mounted "donor" antenna to communicate to first responder radio systems then amplifies specific system frequencies throughout a building via strategically placed antennas.
Effective communication is crucial for coordinating emergency response efforts, ERCES helps ensure that first responders can communicate clearly and effectively during critical situations.
Many jurisdictions have adopted life safety codes which require buildings to have ERCES/BDA systems. It is the responsibility of the building owner to determine if a building needs an ERCES/BDA system by having a signal strength analysis performed. XDS RADIO can perform signal strength testing for your existing buildings or under construction facilities.
XDS RADIO maintains licensing to design, install, and test ERCES. In most jurisdictions licensing is required at the state level, in Colorado licensing is required at the city level (XDS is a licensed ERCES contractor in the City of Denver, Aurora, and others).
